Human Authorship Without Replacement

Studio Kane’s Position on Artificial Intelligence & Creative Integrity

At Studio Kane, modern tools may assist our workflow,
but they will never replace our people.

This page outlines Studio Kane’s Anti-AI Abuse stance:
A commitment to ensuring technological progress coexists with human craft, not at its expense.

What We Do NOT Use AI For:

To be absolutely clear:

  • We do NOT use AI-generated voices for any of our characters.

  • We do NOT use AI-generated VO refinement or voice cloning without prior VA consent.

  • We do NOT use AI-generated animation for any character movement, fight choreography, or emotional expression.

  • We do NOT use AI-generated promotional artwork, character designs, key art, or backgrounds.

  • We do NOT use AI-generated storyboards, keyframes, or produce inbetweens.

  • We do NOT use AI-generated scripts, dialogue, or story material.

No exceptions.

What We May Use AI For:

That said, Studio Kane will not pretend to be anti-technology. That would be dishonest.

Like most modern studios, we occasionally use software tools that incorporate artificial intelligence for technical workflow support only. We're not afraid of being transparent about it.

These tools may assist with:

  • Workflow automation, scripting, and internal R&D

  • Stunt choreography reference analysis in conjunction with paid human stunt performers and coordinators

  • Lighting, color, and texture exploration for sequence-wide cohesion

  • Architectural perspective correction and environmental detailing support

  • Script editing, but strictly limited to:

    • typo correction

    • plot inconsistency flagging

    • historical and thematic research support

    • cultural accuracy checks

    • foreign-language refinement assistance under the guidance of paid language and cultural consultants

These uses exist solely to reduce repetitive strain while improving production efficiency, consistency, and technical accuracy.

But at Studio Kane, we draw a strict boundary between assistance and authorship:

  • Tools may analyze, refine, or transform material created by human artists.

  • Tools may not originate, generate, or replace that material.

This distinction is non-negotiable.

All final visuals are independently created from the ground up by Studio Kane artists.

If a piece of content did not begin with human intent and end with human execution,
it does not enter our production pipeline.

A Forward-Looking Approach

OUTLIER explores trauma, identity, self-sabotage, and codependency.

These are messy human experiences.

We believe the art reflecting them should be imperfectly human too.

As such, creativity should never be reduced to a prompt.

Whatever reaches the screen, it was created by human hands.

Guaranteed.

Studio Kane stands with artists, actors, and animators — because we are artists, actors, and animators.

We boldly invite our supporters to hold us to this claim.

And should the spotlight ever find us,

may we never be ashamed to stand at the center of it.

That is our promise.

Well... second promise.
