-
Fierce sympathizer of the so-called "Lesser Races".
-
Hyperpolyglot, but fluency comes from spoken language (mimicking sound, cadence, inflection) rather than actual reading or writing.
-
Melophile (chronically music-obsessed) with a preference for metalcore, emo, and punk rock siphoned from
radio frequencies of other realms.-
Don't be offended if he plays it at an unreasonable volume while you’re speaking... he insists he’s listening through all the screamo. No need to repeat yourself.
-

Love language = Touch

Who is Lucian Oren Lacer?
Lucian Oren Lacer (never just "Lucian Lacer," or he’ll be the first to correct you) is a prince who refuses to play by the rules of his own kingdom. To his people, he is equal parts captivating and controversial. A royal who openly challenges Elven supremacy, earning admiration from the oppressed and rejection from his own court.
Though "born" without magic, Lucian shines through sheer intellect and combat skill. A sharp-witted strategist, he’s the type to calculate every probability mid-battle... and then over-explain things nobody else asked for.
Considered "the sharpest mind in the room, but sometimes the worst at reading it," Lucian's thoughts often race straight from his head right out of his mouth, leaving him prone to offbeat fumbles or overly blunt remarks that make his companions shake their heads in equal parts awe and frustration.
As endearing as this may sound, unfortunately, his potent brilliance comes wrapped in thick armor. Rude, snarky, and sarcastic...
Lucian keeps everyone at arm’s length with guarded walls held high.
To most, he’s prickly and unpredictable, cycling from sharp outbursts to jarring bursts of humor in the span of minutes. His sweet-and-sour attitude flips without warning, making him a terrifying adversary one moment and a vulnerable ally the next.
In a nutshell, Lucian Oren Lacer is a whirlwind of magnetic charm tangled in disorienting mixed signals. His rebellious spirit and
self-sabotaging ways are rooted in a deep fear of abandonment and unhealed childhood scars. Yet for those patient enough to push through his defenses, he is a fiercely loyal friend. The kind who will bleed first so you don’t have to.
Because beneath all that volatility?
There lies a stubborn, unshakable heart.
One driven by unapologetic altruism and a refusal to let injustice go unanswered... so long as it aligns with his worldview.
...Which, ah... tends to live in the grey.
Even so, the rare few who stay in his orbit swear there’s a good heart worth fighting for beneath all the sharp edges and selfish defenses.
But good luck catching a rare moment where his true self actually shines through. If your name isn’t Oleyssa Caldwell, the best you’ll get is a lazy chuckle and a distrustful side-eye.

OLEYSSA CALDWELL
오레사 콜드웰
(Uh-Less-Uh Kawld-Well)
Nickname: "Love" (by Lucian) / "Sweetheart" (by Aariz)
Title: Heiress to House Caldwell
Gender: Female
Race: Snow Elf (Cassian)
Height: 5'4"
Date of Birth: 2580/09/26 (20 years old)
Magic Affinity: Umbral
Romantic: Hung up on the moody guy to the left. Your left.
Education: Went to college for two years. Technically graduated with an Associate's. Mostly it was just a very expensive excuse to live in the city and stay close to Lucian. Earned a degree in… something. Allegedly.
The paperwork exists somewhere.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Lucian's ex-girlfriend.
-
Military brat lovingly raised under General Jayce Caldwell.
-
Newly appointed member of the King’s Council.
-
A skilled umbral caster and one of the last known
Void Tamers of the modern era.-
"Void Taming" = the lost art of calling dark entities from beyond the realm, forging partnerships with sentient shadows.
-
-
Emotional intelligence? Exceptionally high
Patience for Lucian’s behavior? Objectively unreasonable
Approval of his fashion sense? Absolutely nonexistent -
Quietly accepts Lucian’s compliments and loudly chases JD’s approval... Now guess which one is harder to earn?
That was a trick question. This friend group doesn’t offer compliments or approval. Just violence and vibes.
Who is Lady Caldwell?
Born into privilege yet tethered to a disgraced bloodline, this
dark-blonde sweetheart walks the razor’s edge of Cassian nobility with compassion and resilience far beyond her years; proving that genuine goodness can coexist with power.
Though often introduced as simply "Lucian’s ex," she carries the title with quiet pride, secure in knowing that she alone was ever allowed close enough by him to soften his sharp edges.
Still. Despite her well-known gentle disposition and reputation for patience and kindness, Oleyssa’s umbral casting is anything but.
Primed as a prodigy by an infamous umbral bloodline, her command over shadow is vast, precise, and deeply unsettling. So much so that even Kane finds himself impressed by her ability to go toe-to-toe with him, despite her very mortal limitations.
As a Void Tamer (an ability long thought extinct by present-day), Oleyssa is marked as both a legend-in-the-making and a threat to anyone who fears the darkness she commands.
...Which is exactly why she avoids projecting her life essence in battle unless absolutely necessary.
Her restraint isn’t born from fear or uncertainty, but from awareness. Oleyssa knows exactly what she’s capable of and chooses
de-escalation over domination whenever possible, preferring to defuse situations rather than inflame them.
But when she is finally forced to fight?
The contrast is jarring.
Oleyssa’s calm composure gives way to something cold, focused,
and brutally efficient. Her magic doesn’t rage. It devours.
Light collapses. Space bends... Gravity stalls.
Shadows answer her tempered will with terrifying ease.
Oleyssa is not violent by nature.
But when violence becomes unavoidable? She commits fully.
Not to indulge in harm, but to protect without hesitation.
It is this balance—unshakable compassion paired with overwhelming force—that makes this bold-yet-loving soul so dangerous to her enemies, and so irreplaceable to those she cares for deeply.
In a nutshell, Oleyssa Caldwell stands on her own as a woman who embodies what it means to love unconditionally in a realm built on cruelty... and the quiet burden of remaining the steady foundation that lets others grow, even at her own expense.

JACKDAW ROSSI
잭도 로시
(Jak-Daw Ross-See)
Nickname: "JD" (by all) / "Chicken Nugget" (by Aariz)
Title: Royal Servant to the Lacer Family
Gender: Male
Race: Anemoi (Lesser)
Height: 5'6"
Date of Birth: 2577/05/12 (23 years old)
Magic Affinity: ???
Divine Artifact (Borrowed): The Bow of Gustaev
Romantic: Not interested in you, that's for sure.
Education: We’ll stop here before we accidentally inflate everyone else’s sense of accomplishment...
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Allegiance pledged to the oppressive Elven Kingdom of Cassius, despite being a non-Elven race.
-
Branded a traitor by Lessers for belonging to a family of turncoats.
-
Sharpshooter with an even sharper tongue.
-
Stripped of the ability to access his magic ("Revoked" status)
as punishment for a past crime... yet still considered legally untouchable under Lacer family protection. -
Apparently has full access to Lucian’s Civilian Ledger Card (CLC) — Cassius' combined ID and debit system.
Meaning if he wanted to pull a million runic credits from Lucian’s bank account, he could. But despite all their verbal snipes, JD has never once abused the privilege in retaliation… which says more about their bond than either of them would ever care to admit.
Who is "JD" Rossi?
Jackdaw Rossi is someone caught between two very loud worlds.
Born a "Lesser" (a derogatory term for non-Elven races) and bound as a servant to the royal family that he should consider the enemy, JD lives in the uneasy space between perceived privilege, unfair punishment, and the expectation to meet impossible standards from both sides of his identity.
Technically enslaved under Cassian law, he is granted freedoms no other Lesser could ever dream of. It is a twisted mercy that leaves him distrusted by Elves and hated by his own people.
Branded by the stain of a turncoat family, JD shoulders a lifetime of scorn from his fellow Lessers. And yet, even still, his bond with the two Cassian Princes remain unshakable. Especially to Callum's youngest son, Lucian Oren Lacer.
To outsiders, he’s just a servant. But to Lucian, he’s a best friend, trusted confidant, and the only person bold enough to call him out on his antics without ever fearing any real retaliation.
In fact, Lucian considers him more of a true blood-brother than his own literal sibling, Argus Lacer. Curiously, Oleyssa refers to this as though it were literal fact rather than actual metaphor. Hmm...
Known for his sharp tongue and quick temper, JD’s sarcasm and cynicism often cut as deep as his arrows.
In a friendship where the love language is built on feigned verbal abuse and brutal quips, his back-and-forth rhythm with Lucian keeps both of their clashing—yet oddly synergistic—egos humbled and constantly in-check.
But beneath the spats and the snark, lies a steady compass for the people who need it most. A voice of reason that is unafraid to ground Lucian’s reckless impulses when no one else will, and the often unseen hand keeping his relationship with Oleyssa from tipping into something too dangerous and unhealthy.
For all his cynicism, Jackdaw’s loyalty runs bone-deep, embodying the purest definition of a 'ride-or-die' best friend.

AARIZ OZANNE
어리스 오잔
(Uh-Reese Oh-Zaun)
Nickname: "G" or "까치" (by Lucian)
Legendary Title: The Reaper's Shadow
Gender: Male
Race: Boor-Elf (Half-blood Lesser)
Height: 5'10"
Date of Birth: 1955/11/16 (645 years old...?)
Magic Affinity: ???
Weapon Pref. / Martial Arts Training:
Skilled swordsman; Katana or Wakizashi preferred
Romantic: Gives 110%. Keeps 0%. Says he’s open, but forgets to include himself in the equation. Whoops.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Chosen disciple of Kane the Umbral God.
-
Ex-contract criminal, once entrenched in organized crime
-
Bastard son of a Sungrave Elder Chieftain,
orphaned young. -
Rarely uses legal names — assigns nicknames freely (endearing or insulting, even to strangers)
-
Has a notorious sweet tooth; constant snacker with a long, hyper-specific breakfast order he refuses to deviate from.
-
Claims he and Kane once ran a scammy MLM pyramid scheme together... though it’s unclear if he’s joking or not.
Who is "The Reaper's Shadow"?
Aariz Ozanne (known infamously throughout history as The Reaper’s Shadow)
is a half-blood swordsman who refuses to die. Literally.
Supposedly pushing over 600 years old, Aariz is undeniably Divine in nature. But beyond that assumption, not much else is known.
Probably because he's the type to keep his cards close this his chest and spew jokes behind a jagged smile. It is something that spills so much charisma, it distracts you long enough to not even realize he was ever holding any secrets at all.
At most, he’ll tell you he was "born" from a taboo union and orphaned young. That he clawed his way through the slummy underground until he earned a reputation as the criminal other criminals hired when failure wasn’t an option.
...Which is easy to believe.
With an undefeated battle record and a terrifying mastery of blades, he grew into a legend whispered with equal parts fear and respect.
But as one might easily deduce, this information barely scratches the surface of a life already long-lived... and says nothing about relationships or his past connections with others.
Strange, coming from someone whose entire personality revolves around attachment.
It's clear to see that beneath all the confidence and swagger lies something emptier: a forgotten man who constantly sacrifices himself piece by piece to make others whole—not to win love, but to convince himself he has value only through usefulness.
The result is a figure brimming with charm and playful allure who clings quickly and intensely, treating strangers like lifelong friends and leaving everyone scrambling to keep pace with his devotion.
For this reason, Aariz' unwavering loyalty and chaotic humor makes him impossible to ignore. And for those who earn his bond?
That attachment becomes both a comfort and a burden.
Especially Lucian Oren Lacer.
Those two in particular?
Simply put, it’s a tether too weird to sit with, but too addicting to walk away from.

KAPLAN THE DIMENSIONAL RELIC
태초의 유물 캅린
(Kap-Lynn)
Embodiment: Physical Manifestation of Fate
Legendary Title: The Dimensional Relic
Gender: Technically asexual (presents self as female)
Race: Primordial Entity (Divine of Creation, Destruction, & Change)
Height: Whatever she feels like that day.
Date of Birth: n/a — perpetual
Magic Affinity: Primordial
Non-Romantic: A busy single mom. Step off.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
The oldest being in the OUTLIER universe.
-
Technically a genderless entity, but Lucian deemed her female... therefore she just is.
-
A silent, enigmatic four-winged figure who speaks only through mimicked rasps, hoots, and coos... but Lucian swears her words are as clear as day.
-
Has the ability to effortlessly expand or shrink in size on a whim. Her kind is rumored to shapeshift too, though she’s never bothered proving it. Maybe perching on Lucian's shoulder is more comfortable than walking beside him on equal footing?
-
Universally feared by mortals and revered by fellow Divine... except by Lucian, who just jokingly sees her as
his jealous, feathery... spouse? pet? mother? Who knows. -
Most commonly seen with her eyes tightly closed.
Her neutral expression is blank and impossible to decipher, but as you can guess, Lucian finds her to be the most emotional "person" in the room.
...Do you see a trend here?
Who is Fate?
Kaplan is the living embodiment of Fate, taking the form of a
four-winged white owl with cat-like ear tufts. According to legend, she is the oldest "living" being in existence.
Capable of bending reality to shrink as small as a sparrow or expand as large as a dragon, Kaplan’s presence unsettles mortals and commands reverence from even the most powerful Divine. Across all realms, she is an omen incarnate. Referred to less as a creature and more as a living relic, Kaplan’s very existence symbolizes unfeeling law.
…But Lucian would argue otherwise.
Where others impose detachment, he assigns her personality. Where others strip her of identity, he grants her gender, quirks, likes, and dislikes. To him, Kaplan is not sinister at all. Just simply misunderstood.
Like any other Concept, Kaplan's face lacks the ability to express emotion. And when her eerie, hollow laugh slips through the silence? Most mortals instinctively recoil... mistaking her stillness for deceit and her presence for manipulation.
But among her own kind, that interpretation doesn’t hold too much.
Other Concepts believe that Fate choosing to linger on the shoulder of a mortal should not be read as indifference, but deviation. A sign that she feels when she is not technically supposed to.
In quiet defiance of her nature, Kaplan extends unexplainable love, affection, and loyalty to Lucian; fixing him within her constant "gaze," as if he alone has been deemed worthy of being her muse.
To most, the dark stare of Fate feels like a quiet warning. An unnerving promise that something unfortunate is on its way.
Lucian, however, never flinches at the gesture, instead meeting
her eyes with quiet comfort.
Jokingly claiming he is bonded to this entity on a cosmic level, Lucian often expresses nothing but gratitude that someone so "unworthy" could be allowed to stand within her presence at all.
Ironically, it is Kaplan who claims ownership of him, not the other way around.
So while the universe might see Kaplan as nothing more than an idea incarnate, the Prince of Cassius holds firm on his belief that she is nothing less than a devoted piece of his own self-made family.
...But whether that truth stems from clarity, denial, or defiance?
Remains to be seen.

CAIUS THE RADIANT GOD
빛의 신 카이우스
(Kai-Us)
Nickname: "Tinier Speck" (by Lucian)
Embodiment: Divine of Judgement, Enlightenment,
& Abstract Thought
Gender: Male
Race: Celestial God
Height: 6'2"
Date of Birth: ????/07/04 — age unknown
(honorary birthday assigned by Aariz Ozanne)
Magic Affinity: Radiant
Divine Artifact: The Bracer of Caius
Romantic: Well. He really only interacts with one person, sooo... maybe start there.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Murdered by his most trusted over six centuries ago, his spirit was sealed within a Divine Artifact. His death marked the first successful slaying of a Celestial God through mortal intervention.
-
Prolonged exposure to Luvitrum’s cursed sun left him emotionally bleached, unable to experience empathy without the aid of an inhaled medicinal treatment. It is a reliance that has followed him even beyond death.
-
Displays odd, out-of-pocket humor... but only privately with those who earn his rare favor.
-
Known to weaponize the silent treatment, quickly earning him the unofficial title Lucian ever-so-lovingly gave him: the "Divine of Pettiness."
-
Is said to have once been a devoted father... despite Celestial Gods being incapable of having children.
-
Much like Kane, Caius often fidgets out of boredom; spinning his runic pen or dangling it from his mouth like an troublesome teenager stuck in detention. Perhaps the perpetuity of immortality feels unbearable? Maybe it breeds a desperate need to kill time.
Who is the Divine of Judgement?
Betrayed and murdered by his most trusted over half a millennium ago, Caius' life essence was sealed inside a Divine Artifact that, present-day, falls into the possession of Lucian Oren Lacer.
As a lonely spirit whose existence is bound to a mere piece of armor, he trudges through the afterlife plagued with the echoes of medicinal dependency and a deeply untrusting attitude.
Caius is nothing short of a flawed god, showcasing a demeanor that switches between aloofness and a jaded bitterness; often portraying himself as a petty, judgmental Divine who rarely indulges in conversations with others unless deemed worthy of his time... unless, of course, you're lucky enough to gain his favor. In that case, be prepared for his distinctive, oddly flavored humor.
Much like the element of light he represents, Caius' warm, enlightened perspective often serves as a beacon of guidance during times of struggle. He does his best to push past his apathetic disability for those he cares about (often to an admirable, yet quirky, degree) ...just don’t expect that affection to come in the form of direct advice.
Caius has a tendency to offer cryptic musings instead, finding amusement in tossing around lofty shower-thoughts (which he proudly labels as "food for thought" inquiries) and passing them off as divine-level guidance.
And beneath that dry, radiant wit? Oh, man...
An undeniable streak of fragile pride, as well as unresolved longing for recognition...
Ever the performer, the Radiant God hides his insecurities behind playful theatrics; most notably his habit of pestering Lucian with awkward "gift exchange" games. Which is likely just his own way of soothing the jealousy he harbors over the offerings Kane receives from his followers. And to that degree, Caius insists there is one gift he’s long meant to give Lucian... though the Cassian Prince never humors him long enough to learn what it is.
Although he harbors an unfair disdain for mortals, it's obvious this self-isolating Celestial God cannot help but show an odd favoritism toward Lucian, readily stepping into a genuine "fatherly" role—as if already well-acquainted with playing the part.
It is an inexplicable bond of heartfelt connection, defined not by possession or selfish desire, but by unconditional understanding; heavily blurring the line between:
Quiet mentor → Noisy student
Judgmental deity → Singular exception
Unofficial "therapist" → Perpetual "problem child"

KANE THE UMBRAL GOD
어둠의 신 케인
(Kay-N)
Nickname: "사장님" (by Lucian) /
+ whatever Aariz feels like calling him that day.
Embodiment: Divine of Reality, Inner Peace, & Wisdom
Legendary Title: The Reaper
Gender: Male
Race: Celestial God
Height: 6'2"
Date of Birth: ????/07/04 — age unknown
(honorary birthday assigned by Aariz Ozanne)
Magic Affinity: Umbral
Divine Artifact: The Glaive of Kane
Romantic: Guesses can be made, surely.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Last living Celestial God in Jeongjeok-gye (Lucian's home realm)
-
Insanely powerful. Unique ability to bend, fracture, and rewrite reality; though is often reluctant to abuse that skill for anything life-altering.
-
Gift-giving is said to be his love language. Which means the Umbral God can easily be won over with offerings, especially when bribed with spicy romance novels. It's like feeding trashy snacks to a gluttonous raccoon.
-
Doesn't live up to his reputation of being very wise or at peace. He gives pretty good advice, but doesn't ever follow it himself.
-
Naïve and overly trusting of plain statements. Often relies on Aariz or Haegris for social context with mortals... despite being historically known as the Celestial God who interacted with mortals the most.
-
Constantly fiddles with minor reality warps out of boredom — pens to pencils, coins to gold, tables to goo; nothing useful, just restless hands at work.
Who is "The Reaper"?
Kane is an immensely powerful Celestial God gifted with the ability to bend, fracture, and rewrite reality itself.
As the embodiment of the umbral affinity of 기 (life essence / “magic” ) ,
he was once followed by worshippers across all affinities—not just umbral casters—drawn to the inner peace and wisdom he preached.
And for a while?
It worked.
Not that long ago, it wasn’t uncommon for people from wildly different walks of life to pray to the Umbral God. After all, Kane always did have a rare knack for connecting with mortals in a way that felt personal rather than god-like, earning him the largest following among his siblings.
As a result, his reputation as one of the most respected and benevolent gods long outweighed the intimidation of his umbral nature. Kane taught mortals that darkness could be soothing, grounding, and cleansing so long as it wasn’t met with fear or violence.
Personality-wise, Kane leans oddly naïve and teasing.
He’s sharp and dry, sure. But also disarmingly charming, even to those who fully expect him to be their enemy. It’s an energy that catches people off guard, making his legendary title "The Reaper"
a bit… misleading.
Even stranger, Kane is famously reluctant to use his power for anything irreversible. Contrary to popular belief, the Umbral God avoids large-scale reality breaking whenever possible, treating cause and effect like something fragile rather than disposable.
But that restraint doesn’t make him gentle...
When provoked, Kane can swing sharply between fierce protectiveness and hostile aggression. He is infamous for nursing grudges against those who wrong him, and is deeply troubled for a Celestial God who teaches others how to heal.
Much like his Divine siblings, Kane is extremely flawed; routinely failing to live up to the very teachings he offers...
Hypocrisy, as it turns out, is a shared trait among Celestial Gods.
And yet? Many still bow in worship not out of fear, but hope.
To a rare few, he is a selfless deity who places others before himself.
To everyone else? A vengeful force who serves only his own interests.
…Depends on your perspective.
Either way, staying in his good graces is probably a wise move.

HAEGRIS THE VOID WARDEN
해그리스
(Heh-Gris)
Nickname: "Shade" (by all except Kane)
Chosen Name: The Shadebender
Title: Void Warden (Covenant of the New Moon)
Gender: Male (presents self as plural entity)
Race: Umbralian
Height: He's a cat.
Date of Birth: ????/??/?? — estimated 654 years old
(measured in Jeongjeok-gye years)
Magic Affinity: Umbral
Romantic: He's a cat...
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Former Void Warden, disgraced and exiled from their home-realm of Umbralis.
-
At one point, they held one of the eight ruling seats of Umbralis, overseeing the political faction tied to the New Moon phase.
-
"Adopted" by Kane the Umbral God after seeking divine sanctuary in a state of grief... But this was 600 years ago. Which means this cat has happily traveled by the Umbral God's side for over half a millennium.
-
Speaks with snarky, dry wit. Not from arrogance, but from fierce loyalty and an overprotective drive to preserve their god's peace... even if it means being rude.
-
Refers to themself in plural form using a chosen name, "The Shadebender," though their reasons for doing so remain an unspoken truth buried deep in their past. Even more strange? Their unwillingness to correct Kane for calling him Haegris and refering to themself as singular.
Who is the Shadebender?
Once hailed as the youngest Umbralian to ever ascend to political leadership, Shade’s early innocence led to a tragic mistake 600 years ago. Sadly, it was a transgression considered not merely criminal, but regarded as the highest, most unfathomable taboo in all of Umbralis.
Stripped of their title and marked for death, Shade narrowly escaped execution by seeking sanctuary in the arms of the Umbral God himself, where they were lucky enough to earn his eternal favor.
In the present day, "The Shadebender" serves as Kane’s most devoted companion. Their loyalty is forged not from duty, but from the quiet understanding of two long-lived souls haunted by pasts they both consider beyond redemption.
Unlike most Umbralians, Shade possesses the disturbing ability to consume living beings into shadow, absorbing fragments of their life essence to fuel their own. However, this trait appears to only amplify magical output—not grant actual immortality.
Like all Void Wardens, Shade’s resurrection depends solely on the acquisition of their rosary. So long as an Umbral caster forges a bond-pact and deems them worthy, their existence may be rekindled until either death of the caster, or the destruction of the Void Warden's rosary directly.
Forever walking in-toe with the Umbral God, Shade remains the eternal Void Warden to a god who can easily outlive all realms... if kept carefully protected.
And to that end, this Umbralian has sworn themselves to do just that. Without compromise.

JAYCE CALDWELL
제이스 콜드웰
(Jays Kawld-Well)
Title: General of the Cassian Army
& Main Branch Patriarch of House Caldwell
Gender: Male
Race: Snow Elf (Cassian)
Height: 6'1"
Date of Birth: 2555/06/25 (45 years old)
Magic Affinity: Water
Romantic: Happily married with a cozy domestic life at home... Which means the scowl is just a professional courtesy, deployed primarily to keep the Lacer brothers at arm's length. They follow him around like stray dogs who don’t understand the difference between bad attention and good attention —only that it’s attention.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Technically the true main branch patriarch of the Caldwell family (one of the founding noble lineages of Cassius), Jayce had to step down from that title for... personal reasons.
-
Despite his military authority, renowned bloodline, and close friendship with the royal family, Jayce was publicly disgraced 12 years ago. Sadly, he never fully recovered his reputation since the incident, no matter how... justified.
-
He is an incredibly loving father. To a fault. Unless you want an icicle between the eyes, don't even look at his daughter.
-
A water caster who rarely uses water in its liquid state.
Widely credited with pioneering ice magic as an offensive discipline rather than a purely defensive one. -
Cold, calculating, and terrifyingly precise in combat.
Frequently cited as Argus Lacer’s polar opposite in temperament... Both insist this has nothing to do with their magical affinity. A coincidence. Surely. -
Addicted to hot coffee. As someone who has an adept mastery over the cold, let him peacefully enjoy the warmer pleasures in life.
Who is Cassius' Disgraced Elite?
Jayce Caldwell.
General of the Cassian Army.
Best friend to His Majesty, Callum Lacer.
Brother-in-arms to Crown Prince Argus Lacer.
…and, unfortunately, Lucian’s worst interpersonal relationship.
Jayce stands tall as Oleyssa Caldwell's father figure, yet remains permanently kneecapped by public opinion after a past act left him shamed and disgraced. It is a stain he could never fully wash away, even after all these years.
And so, he poured himself into the only two identities he had left: General of the Cassian Army, and guardian to the daughter he chose.
...To an excessive degree.
Good intentions. Poor execution.
Not because he fails as a soldier—he’s terrifyingly accomplished.
Not because he fails as a father—he’s stable, loving, and fiercely present.
The problem is a bit... simpler.
Jayce no longer knows who he is without those roles… so he gives them his all-! 200%. No room left over.
That overcommitment leaves him with an unshakable moral compass that regularly puts him at odds with the distrustful government he serves... and a suffocating overprotectiveness toward a daughter he never asked for, yet proudly claims as his own.
Which brings us back to Lucian.
I mean… have you seen the guy?
He's the walking red flag every father warns their daughters about.
But where most fathers would say "Stay away from him,"
Jayce’s version sounds more like: "If I see that red flag standing on my porch one more time, the King might not have a backup heir anymore."
Cruel on first impression? Oh, absolutely.
But beneath the rough edges, rigid posture, and ice-cold stare is a man quietly drowning in his own unresolved trauma and unspoken insecurity. A deeply caring soul who learned a little too late in life that strength doesn’t always protect what you love.
Oleyssa, of course, sees straight through him.
And when Jayce starts to forget himself, she likes to remind him of one simple truth: She couldn’t possibly love as purely as she does,
if she hadn’t been raised by someone who taught her how.
Jayce Caldwell is proof that it is possible to love gently and stand your ground when that love is challenged.
And Oleyssa reflects the very best qualities of him.

ARGUS LACER
아르거스 레이서
(Ar-Gus Lay-Sir)
Title: Crown Prince of Cassius (firstborn heir)
& Lieutenant General of the Cassian Army
Gender: Male
Race: Snow Elf (Cassian)
Height: 5'11"
Date of Birth: 2572/09/09 (28 years old)
Magic Affinity: Fire
Romantic: X marks the spot? Maybe. Who knows.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Lucian Oren Lacer's older brother; both of which are children of Callum Lacer, the 15th King of Cassius, and Mireya Sol'cour, the late Cassian Queen.
-
Possesses the terrifying ability to manipulate the sun's radiation, but usually just settles for snapping his fingers to conjure tiny flames in a theatrical way of demanding someone's attention. Maybe learn to lower your expectations.
-
Fiercely protective of Lucian… when he’s actually home. When he’s not, he’s usually out drinking to drown his own problems. That part? None of your business.
-
A high-ranking military commander whose position looks like nepotism... until you actually see him fight, strategize, or take charge. Then it becomes painfully clear his title was earned.
-
The only known fire caster capable of compressing heat to such an extreme degree that his flames can burn smoldering blue. This makes him incredibly lethal in combat, and also be a great addition to your camping trip... because s'mores.
-
Exceptionally intelligent and catastrophically
under-coping. The Lacer brothers are brilliant thinkers with frightening potential... held back by unresolved damage, avoidance, and bad habits disguised as personality.
Who is the Crown Prince?
Argus Lacer is widely considered the most beloved member of the Cassian royal family... at least since the death of his mother, who once held that title beyond contest.
To his people, Argus represents everything a Cassian should be. Accomplished. Skilled. Compliant. Free of scandal or controversy. The kind of heir everyone trusts without question. Perfect.
And in that perfection, his younger brother was left standing in his shadow. As Lucian grew into the imperfect "spare," his very existence demanded that the direct heir remain flawless by contrast. But if that is the price of allowing Lucian to live expectation-free and outside their father’s scrutiny? Argus shoulders the burden willingly and in silence.
Family dynamics aside, the crown prince is immensely intelligent, tactically gifted, and devastating in combat... yet finds himself defaulting to the same strategy time and time again: remain as unimpressive as possible.
Behind closed doors, Argus is anything but the ideal held up by the public. He avoids interaction whenever possible, appearing just often enough to maintain appearances... and sometimes to buy drinks for an entire pub just to justify getting drunk without judgment.
Despite possessing the raw magical potential to conquer the realm single-handedly, Argus shows no interest in power, governance, or legacy. He has no desire to pick up a metaphorical crown, much less sit on a physical throne. Since his mother’s passing, he has grown withdrawn, tired, and deliberately unambitious.
To Lucian, Argus is the perfect brother who learned to love him
from a distance.
To Jayce, Argus is the perfect soldier who has always refused to commit to his own potential.
To Callum, Argus is the perfect heir and only viable answer left to preserve the royal legacy.
But to Argus himself?
Just an imperfect person... quietly waiting for the realm to finally stop looking at him.

NIMORRA HYUN
니모라 현
(Nih-More-Ruh H-Yun)
Title: Royal Advisor to the King & Head of the King’s Council
Gender: Female
Race: Snow Elf (Cassian)
Height: 5'7"
Date of Birth: ???
Magic Affinity: ???
Divine Artifact (Borrowed): The Scythe of Vilus
Romantic: Argus, probably. We just can't prove it yet, but it's definitely giving middle-school bully vibes.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Fluent in Elvish, despite the language being banned.
-
Much like Lucian, no one knows how she learned it.
-
Unlike Lucian, Nimorra never admits to actually knowing it... she just drops Elvish phrases
mid-conversation and watches the room’s confusion unfold with a sheisty smile.
-
-
Relies heavily on a particular Divine Artifact that enables Odious casting instead of her own magic affinity...
a practice that's also strictly banned in Cassius. It seems rules are a bit more flexible when power is involved. -
Very little is known about Nimorra’s past. However, records confirm her professional entanglement with the Lacer family dates back at least as far as Lucian's childhood.
Who is the King's Chief Advisor?
Nimorra Hyun serves as Royal Advisor and Head of the
King’s Council; a position she has held for almost two full decades.
And in a court prone to volatility, ego, and impulsive power plays?
That's impressive to keep up with.
She is widely regarded as the most consistent political presence in the Elven Kingdom of Cassius—measured, composed, and unshakably professional… with a past that remains suspiciously difficult to trace.
Rumors circulate freely. Some claim she rose from the Lower District as a street rat, clawing her way into power through proximity and opportunity. Others insist she is an old family acquaintance of the Lacers, elevated through quiet favoritism.
But if you ask Lucian or Argus directly?
They'll shut down both theories fast.
Argus and Nimorra are far too comfortable being in each other's faces in heated arguments or snarky disrespectful spats for her to be considered a "family friend." And Lucian is quick to point out that Nimorra is far too educated, too perceptive, and too deeply informed to be dismissed as a lucky nobody who stumbled into influence.
Still, neither prince can explain why their father trusts her so
whole-heartedly... or why she even appeared in their lives at all.
Personal opinions aside, within Cassius, Nimorra’s contributions
are considered indispensable.
The King always trusts her judgment.
The Council always defers to her counsel.
And when tragedy strikes the realm—as it so often does—this
ever-stable guiding force is invariably present, ready to strategically maneuver the kingdom through its aftermath.

VILUS THE ODIOUS GOD
금기의 신 바이러스
(Vai-Luhs)
Embodiment: Divine of Time, Taboo, & Death
Legendary Title: The Borrowed Minute
Gender: Male
Race: Celestial God
Height: 6'3"
Date of Birth: ???? — age unknown
(but confirmed to be the eldest sibling of the entire Celestial God family)
Magic Affinity: Odious
Divine Artifact: The Scythe of Vilus
Romantic: Ohh~ hunny...! You don't want to risk this.
Unique Traits/Quirks:
-
Divine of Time — yet impatient, easily bored with monotony
Divine of Taboo — yet insists every transgression is justified
Divine of Death — yet deeply afraid of it, desperate to stop it -
Predatory charm cadence. Feigns warmth and playfulness before abruptly turning hostile; a deliberate switch meant to keep enemies off-balance and allies perpetually wary
-
Actually adored by his siblings. Vilus only extends hostility to those he doesn’t consider family. Kane remains the lone exception though… Time and Reality do not get along as well as one might expect.
-
Refuses to remove his mask in the present day. Done with attachment. Done with trust. Anyone who stands beside him does so because they’re useful, not chosen. He isn’t here to make friends... and he certainly doesn’t want your worship.
Who is the "Borrowed Minute"?
Vilus' history seemingly stretches as far back as time itself.
And for once, that isn’t a poetic exaggeration.
Long before misfortune could be renamed, categorized, or ritualized, Vilus was its first documented victim of a rebirthed era. He is said to be the earliest mortal ever granted false immortality—a dangerous offering bestowed by one of the original Concepts.
Elevated into something the universe would later classify as "The Divine". Vilus became an accepted loophole in reality, and the universe didn’t protest. In fact, it even benefited from him over time.
His influence allowed more Concepts and Abstracts to be ushered into existence as a byproduct, stabilizing the balance of life at a cosmic scale. A necessary exception to universal law. A tolerated blasphemy.
Rather than accept this gift alone, Vilus later convinced the Concept of Faith to extend that same impossible mercy to his chosen siblings. As a result, this ancient mortal "family" ascended into pseudo-deities. Realm-ending threats capable of embodying life essence at its fullest potential. Cursed with an eternal existence so long as they were not slain by another of equal standing in the cosmos. This group of nine adoptive brothers and sisters would eventually come to be known as "The Celestial Gods."
And regardless of whether Vilus’ plea was born from love, fear, or a selfish refusal to be left behind—one truth is uncontested:
The request for immortality became a trap.
Faith’s intervention bound Vilus and his siblings into a vast cosmic mechanism. One that reduced them to nothing more than perpetual power sources. Weapons. Tools. Resources to be spent.
Existence stopped being personal.
And the realms forgot that these beings were anything more than just false instruments engineered to generate faith.
That legacy left never-ending chaos in Vilus' wake. With every step he took, time destabilized under the weight of taboo and death.
Even so much as being credited as the primary reason the Concept of Tragedy re-manifests at such an alarming rate.
But rather continue to resist this consequence, Vilus learned to embrace it. Eventually forming what could be cautiously described as a friendship with Tragedy itself—a mutually beneficial understanding between two forces who know that suffering, once introduced, never truly disappears.
Thus, time was borrowed.
...And Vilus has been collecting interest ever since.
From allies to rivals to gods themselves,
countless characters are waiting in the OUTLIER universe.
Meet them all when you dive into the story.
